About this trip

Our Daytime Hog Hunt is available all year long and by far the most challenging mostly due to the nocturnal movement of the hogs. Unlike our night hog hunt with only one sit per day. This daytime hunt consists of a morning and afternoon sit each day. The morning hunt starts just before first light and ends after about a 4 to 4.5 hours after daylight and the afternoon sit begins roughly 4 to 4.5 hours before dark and ends 30 minutes after sunset. During this hunt, hunters will be placed in stands or blinds overlooking bait piles or feeders located in travel corridors, food plots, swamp bottoms or planted pines.

During this hunt, you may harvest 2 hogs per day. We do not have any trophy fees but require all hogs to be 50 lbs or better; we also ask that our hunters make clean, ethical shots on all game to ensure a quick kill. This not only guarantees the meat from that animal will be good for eating, it will assist us in finding that hog quickly and getting out of the area so that we don’t contaminate it for the next hunt.

Wounded Animals/Missed Shots Policy

This policy is in place for the protection of our game animals, the management of our properties and to insure that all of our hunters make ACCURATE, CLEAN, ETHICAL kill shots during their hunt.

Any shot at a hog by the hunter is considered a fatal shot and counts towards the hunters harvest limits. The hunter CANNOT shoot at a second hog during that morning or afternoon sit. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS!

1) This has drastically reduced the number of missed shots and wounded animals.

2) This also eliminates the confusion of multiple wounded animals and blood trails in the same area.

3) Most importantly this helps keep the properties and stand locations productive by not blowing them up and ruining them for the remainder of your hunt and any future hunts.

Each hunter will be allowed one wounded animal during their hunt. If the hunter has a second wounded animal it will be at the sole discretion of LCHL on whether that clients hunt will continue or that clients hunt will be terminated. This also goes for any hunter not informing us of a shot taken, a shot missed or a possibly wounded or dead animal. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS!

 - We expect all hunters to be proficient at shooting! Every hunter should be able to make accurate, clean and ethical shots on animals from 10 yards to 150 yards when using a scoped rifle that is resting on a stand shooting rail or one of our tripod gun rests.

This is also not a hog extermination hunt! We do not allow shooting into groups/packs of hogs! Again, this leads to multiple wounded animals and it ruins the stand location for the remainder of your hunt and any upcoming hunts. We ask that you pick one hog out and wait until it is clearly separated from the group/pack before shooting. IT WILL HAPPEN, JUST BE PATIENT!

PLEASE NOTE: Low Country Hunting Lodge accepts no responsibility or liability for a hunter’s decision to fire their weapon at an animal during their hunt. We will make every effort to track and recover your animal within logical reason and often succeed in the recovery of marginally hit animals. However, in the case that the animal is deemed unrecoverable or there is no sign of that animal being hit LCHL’s obligations will be considered fulfilled.

ABOUT THE LAND & LODGE

Property description:
LCHL hunts approximately 1500 acres of prime low country deer and hog habitat located in Hampton County near the Savannah River. This land is covered with roomy, safe single person and two-person elevated box blinds along with 17 foot tower and ladder stands that are easy to get in to and provide a great view of our hardwood bottoms, pine plantations, food plots and giant cotton fields that have all been baited with the deer and hog’s favorite food of corn. This attractant is placed from 75 to 150 yards from the stands to draw in the animals and provide a good, high-percentage shot for our hunters.
Lodging Description:
When you join LCHL here in the low country, you will enjoy much more than just great hunting. You will stay in our beautiful 3 bedroom ranch-style lodge with all the amenities of home while you are with us. You will also get 3 meals a day prepared by Mrs. Amy: a continental breakfast to start your day, a tasty lunch after your morning hunt and an unbelievable dinner after your evening hunt. Some of the items on her menu for lunch include venison burritos and wild hog breakfast casserole along with unbelievable dinners like her famous prime rib, pork loin and hog/venison stuffed pasta shells. Of course she also makes sure that you have great treats too such as cream cheese caramel brownies and home-made cakes for after the hunt. So as you can see, you will definitely not go hungry while staying with us, and most likely go home a few pounds heavier.
