South Carolina's Preferred Destination for Deer Hunts

Since 1985, it has been the goal of the Cedar Knoll Hunting Lodge to provide the best in South Carolina deer hunting. Located near the Savannah River south of Fairfax, South Carolina in the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry, our lodge is the ideal spot for those looking for deer hunts From August 15th through January 1st.

Join Us for Deer Hunting

The Cedar Knoll Hunting Lodge in South Carolina provides its guests with access to 3,000 acres of intensively managed, prime low country habitat. Our whitetail deer herd has benefitted from a year-round supplemental feeding program that has been in place since 1985, and has produced the highest concentration of quality white-tailed deer in the nation as well as the highest sustained harvest on record in the white-tailed world.

In addition, the Cedar Knoll Hunting Lodge in South Carolina limits the number of deer hunters to not more than 10 hunters at one time. This helps us to ensure a quality experience and a high success rate.

Our Hunting Lodge in South Carolina insures the success of their clients by targeting only prime deer hunting times while avoiding historically slow periods, which affords appropriate "rest periods" between deer hunts in order to provide the highest opportunity for success. SC Deer Hunting periods routinely include one week in August, September, and December, and six weeks spanning the rut from early October through mid-November. As a result of this strategy, Cedar Knoll customers experience a success rate of well over 100% on bucks with a 70% success rate on bucks 2.5 years or older, averaging approximately eight points and 15 inches in width.

Your next South Carolina Deer Hunting Adventure

Guests at the Cedar Knoll Hunting Lodge can be confident that they are deer hunting in a game-rich environment where the opportunity for success is the best available in the region. In fact, we are so confident that you will have an opportunity to be successful that we offer the following guarantee: “It is our policy to offer another hunt to those who do not have a shooting opportunity at a suitable animal on rifle hunts of three or more days at the non-hunter rate of $150.00 per day on a return visit, if the group of hunters in camp as a whole does not have a 100% opportunity to harvest a suitable deer/hog.”

White-tailed SC deer hunting may be enjoyed on a scheduled “deer only” hunt with the weapon of choice from August 15th –January 1st, on a “combination deer/hog hunt” with the weapon of choice from August 15th –January 1st, on a combination deer/quail hunt from November 1st – January 1st, or on the “Ultimate Hunt” for deer/hog/quail from November 1st – January 1st. Come enjoy our warm, Southern hospitality, and relax in a unique setting with an unprecedented opportunity for hunting success.

Deer Hunting in South Carolina: The Hunt Day

You will be awakened one hour before daylight to prepare for deer hunting in South Carolina. You’ll be served a continental breakfast and driven to your stand right at daylight at approximately 6:00 AM. The morning hunt lasts for approximately three hours and is followed by a very nice brunch. Mid-day activities include fishing, billiards, television, conversation, or a nap. The afternoon hunt lasts for 3 hours and is followed by a bountiful dinner. Most hunting is done from elevated stands or tower blinds from heights of 12 to 15 feet. However, we also have ground blinds for those who cannot climb. All stands are strategically located throughout our property overlooking feeding stations and/or food plots at a range of 100 to 150 yards downwind. Rifles of .243 minimum caliber are required and should be topped with good, modern, light gathering scopes zeroed at 100 to 200 yards for best success.

Quail Hunting

Whether you are a bird hunting enthusiast simply looking for some lively quail hunting in South Carolina and great dog work, a chance to work your dog for a few days out of the snow and ice, a month long winter training camp for your dog under the guidance of a nationally recognized field trial trainer/handler or you are a professional trainer/handler looking for a winter camp down South to get your dogs tuned up for the Spring trial season, the folks at Lakeview Plantation and the Cedar Knoll Hunting Lodge can tailor a package of quail hunting in South Carolina to fill your needs.
