Hunt Hickory Creek
I've been guiding in Kansas for almost 20 years. I used to hunt for myself but I realized that I had the opportunity to make other hunters dreams come true. I have the pleasure of meeting many nice people, and it gives me great satisfaction seeing the wide eyed hunter tell his stories of close encounters or awesome kills.
Being a bow hunter by heart, the scouting and stand placement gives me a lot of satisfaction. Where else can you be more than one place at a time - having hunters in stands that I set is just that! Hunting season is only a short time of the year, but I get to do what I love all year long - shed hunting, food plotting, and scouting.
If you get the chance to come down and sample what Hickory Creek has to offer, I bet it will leave a lasting impression. Our goal is to have satisfied hunters that come back every season to rekindle friendships and share good times!

If you're looking for great whitetail hunt in Kansas, at a reasonable cost with a honest and hardworking outfitter, read below and learn why Hunt Hickory Creek is the best choice for guided hunting in Kansas.
Semi-Guided Whitetail Deer Hunting
To ensure our guests a quality hunting experience, we spend all year scouting the thousands of acres we control in Elk County, Chautauqua County, Cowley County, and Greenwood County. By doing this, we stay on top of deer patterns and movements.
Spring finds us shed hunting - looking for "White Gold" - the prized antlers of bucks that have made it through another season. We install hundreds of acres of spring and fall food plots each year - all of which are strategically placed for bucks to feel comfortable during daylight hours, and to provide the deer with added nutrition throughout the year.
Trophy Class Deer Herd
Deer numbers are on the rise, which has pushed the buck to doe ratio to 2:1. It is common to see more bucks than does on any given day.
We want our young bucks to reach maturity so we hold a 135" minimum on harvested bucks, and have instituted an immature buck fine when a hunter grossly underestimates size. We want you to kill a mature buck in the 4-6 year class, when they've reached their full potential. Every year 160"-200"+ bucks are harvested in and around this region of Kansas. Our land has many of these trophy deer, and if you have the patience to pass on the young ones you might get a shot at a Kansas giant.
Fertile Hunting Land
We lease 30 different ranches across 4 different counties, covering more than 34,000 acres in the southern portion of the Flint Hills region of Kansas. This region of Kansas is nationally known for grass fed cattle. The minerals and nutrients that grow great cattle also grow great deer!
You'll be hunting on farm land and heavy timbered draws, to open pastures and tree choked fence lines. Creek bottoms lined with white oaks or a occasional persimmon grove. Black jack covered hill tops or scattered cedar thickets.
The varying terrain provides the ample minerals and nutrients that it takes to produce trophy class buck.
When you’re ready to reserve your whitetail hunting trip, a $400 deposit is required to hold your trip date and hunting lodge. The remaining balance is due upon arrival, and payable in cash or credit card.
