Guided Moose Hunts in Alaska
I offer one guided moose hunt in Alaska with two hunters per year. When you inquire about this hunt, I answer your questions and I will be your guide.
Your hunt takes place on a tributary of the famous Yukon River in the heart of Interior Alaska. This Yukon River moose hunt is conducted during the rut when moose are very active and responsive to calling. We have seen up to 11 moose at one time with multiple bulls well over the 60 inch range mixed with cows and younger bulls on a hillside. Our harvested moose antler spread averages 55 to 65 inches. We target large trophy bulls but unlike many other areas of the state, my area does not have antler restrictions.
Moose Camp/Hunt:
I use small bush planes, from experienced transporters, for transportation out of my hunting area. I use specially designed hunting rafts as our mode of transportation during the hunt. We paddle down the river to prime hunting areas. These prime areas are back channels off the main river, marshy swamps, and mountain sides. From these spots we use proven moose calling techniques to bring the bulls to us. We typically spend 3 days at each hunting location. A moose will come to a call–it may be in 10 minutes–it may be in three days; but he will come to investigate the call.
This hunt is ideal for archery and rifle hunters. We typically harvest moose with-in 50 yards. I do recommend that all archery hunters also bring a rifle as a back up. There is times when an archery shot is just not possible on the bull of a lifetime.
My camp consists of top of the line tents and a cooking/eating shelter. Two hunters share a 6-man tent with cots. The tents are tall enough to stand up in.
A typical day at moose camp:
Rise at 5:30 AM for coffee and a light breakfast. We call for moose around daylight. As the sun rises we move to vantage points to watch and listen for moose responding to the call. Many times we will have moose near camp that responded to calling the night before. We usually eat a hearty brunch after the morning hunt. After brunch we head out to call during midday to “prime the area” for the evening hunt. This is also a prime time to fish. The river is filled with Rainbow Grayling. We eat an early dinner and we’re back out to call and watch/listen for responding moose.
This is our normal schedule, but we have had moose walk into camp while cutting wood, eating breakfast, or during all hours of the day or night. We have harvested 90% of our moose from camp.
* Airfare to and from your home to Fairbanks, Alaska is not included.
* License & tag fees are not included
* Trophy transportation and taxidermy is not included.
* Lodging in Fairbanks/North Pole before & after hunt is not included.
* Pick-up and drop-off in Fairbanks is included.
* Transportation in and out of the field (including meat) included.
This guided moose hunt is a multi-species hunt if you choose. You can harvest any other animal that is in season, and you possess the tags for, at no charge until your moose is harvested. Once your moose is harvested, you can continue your hunt for secondary species for $500.00 per day –No trophy fees. The secondary species that can be harvested are black bear, brown bear, wolves, wolverine, and caribou.
A non-refundable 25% deposit is required to reserve your guided moose hunt in Alaska. The balance is due 30 days prior to the hunt start date. Call me at (907) 378-1851 for booking information or contact me with further questions about my Alaskan moose hunting trips!

Alaskan Guided Bear Hunts
Grizzly Bear hunting in Alaska
When a hunter thinks of hunting in Alaska; Grizzly Bears are usually the first species that comes to mind. There is not an animal in Alaska that will get your heart pounding on the final stalk like an Alaskan Grizzly Bear. Whether you chose to chase Grizzlies in the spring or fall, my guided bear hunts are unforgettable.
My spring and fall bear hunting trips are for Alaskan Interior Grizzly Bears. Your hunt will take place in Game Management Unit 25 by the famous Alaska Yukon River. Interior Grizzly Bears are known for the beautiful color phases of their fur. The colors range from almost black to gold and every color in between.
All of my bear hunts are fully guided. 1 hunter X 1 guide. Bear camps consist of Arctic Oven tents with cots and woodstoves. The tents are tall enough to stand up in and are very spacious.
Spring Grizzly Bear Hunt
As the bright warm spring sunshine releases winters grip on the snow covered mountains the Alaskan Grizzly digs out of its den in search of its first spring meal. We perch on mountain and ridge tops, basking in the spring sun, glassing for our quarry; anxiously waiting to catch a glimpse of a bear emerging from its den. Once a bear is spotted the heart rate picks up and the stalk is on.
A typical day at spring bear camp:
Rise at 6:00 AM and eat a hearty breakfast. Buckle up our heated helmets, fire up the snowmobiles and head to the snow covered mountaintops to glass the open expanses. Lunch is either sandwiches or Mountain House on the trail. After lunch we will visit more mountain tops and valleys in search of newly opened dens and tracks. We will also count the local moose and caribou herds to see if a bear or wolf has slipped in and killed one. After a long day on the trail we head back to base camp for a hearty dinner.
My spring Grizzly Bear hunts are conducted 100% by snowmobile. Each hunter will have his own snowmobile.
In the spring we typically see fewer bears on the 1st hunt but the bears we do see are typically large adult male bears. On the second hunt we typically see more bears with a mix of adult bears to sows with cubs.
The spring hunt is a multi-species hunt if you choose. You can harvest black bear or wolf for free until your grizzly bear is harvested. Once your grizzly bear is harvested, you can continue your hunt for black bear or wolf for $500.00 per day –No trophy fees. You must purchase and possess a black bear locking tag and harvest ticket to harvest black bear. Limit is 3 black bears. Locking tags or harvest tickets are NOT required to harvest wolves. Limit is 10 wolves.
I highly encourage hunters to harvest wolves. My Grizzly Bear hunting area is currently under an intensive management predator control program by Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game to reduce wolf numbers.
* Airfare to and from your home to Fairbanks, Alaska is not included.

As old man winter knocks on the door; bears are smacking their lips on frost covered blueberries, trying to pack on as many calories as possible before their long winter nap. In fall bears travel to search for remaining blueberry morsels and the perfect den site. We travel to frosty mountain and ridge tops to glass large expanses. Once a bear is spotted the heart rate picks up and the stalk is on.

If you have dreamed of flying into a remote Alaskan lake and catching big and lots of fish–away from other people; then my fly-in fishing trips are for you.
Alaska Guided Fishing adventures are conducted from June through August.
All of my summer Fairbanks fishing trips are conducted on remote lakes and streams that are rarely fished by others during the summer. These locations are only accessed by a float plane. Many times we will complete a multi-day trip without seeing another person. I take only 1 group at a time. You will have your own private fishing adventure with your personal Fairbanks fishing guide.
Every Fairbanks guided fishing adventure includes: Guide, all Tackle, and Boats with Motors. I use spinning reels for all of my trips.
Guide fee per day:
1-4 People $400.00 Total
5-8 People $800.00 Total
In addition to the guide fee there is a transportation/float plane fee per person. The transportation fee will be paid directly to the float plane pilot.
The transportation fee varies from $345.00 to $450.00 by location/ distance from Fairbanks to the remote lakes & streams.
Fishing Licenses are required *not included in price*
Fishing Licenses can be bought directly from me (Cash Only) at the tour start or online.
Fishing License Fees-1 day Non Resident $25.00, 3 day Non Resident $45.00.
