Wyoming Fly Fishing
Wyoming Fly Fishing Guide Service
started running guided trips on the Grey Reef sections of the North Platte in 1987, a full 11 years before any other outfitter. We were the first outfitter to start targeting the big trout that have made these waters famous.
Today, we are the largest and most experienced guide service on the Gray Reef, Miracle Mile, & Fremont Sections of the North Platte River. Our Guides have also pioneered guiding the “uncrowded bighorn”. This is the Wyoming side of the Bighorn River, and is the only other tailwater in the country we consider to be in the same class as the North Platte.
Through Wyoming Fly Fishing’s special use permits across the state our clients enjoy 34 private and public boat ramps. These permits give our guides access to over 200 miles of float-able water and 40 miles of wade access waters, allowing for a multitude of guided fishing options. The oldest service and most experienced guide staff combined with some of the biggest wild trout in the country can only produce the trip of a lifetime.

Travel to Casper
You can fly right into Casper, Wyoming on Delta or United Airlines. Rental cars are available at the airport, or we will be happy to pick you up if you would like.
These waters are all catch and release. So bring a camera to record all of these great fish. If you would like a replica made of your trophy, our guides are all excellent photographers and will take a lot of photos, as well as measuring the exact length and girth of the fish. This way, you can show off your trophy and the fish can get even bigger for next year!
What To Bring
We can provide a fly rod, but if you have your own, bring a five to seven weight rod, fly reel with smooth drag, waders, boots, camera, sunscreen, warm clothes and a rain jacket. We will provide flies, leaders, indicators and any other needed gear. Any rental rods that you might need are included at no charge. Wyoming. Our staff is always tying and testing new fly patterns. What we do is collect samples of the trout’s favorite bugs, then tie our flies to directly match these.(check out our Platte River Specialty Flies) By doing this, we get flies that resemble the aquatic insects of our river specifically and not a standard pattern for all rivers. These Platte River specific flies can make the difference between a slow day and an epic day.
