9 Day Mountain Goat Hunt

Western Canadian Moose

Our guiding concessions consist of a combined 2200 square miles of excellent moose habitat. The areas have a network of logging roads that cover approximately 60% of territories. The balance of rugged mountain valleys, swamps and lakes creates an affordable moose hunt that produces success. Mature moose in this area range from 40" to 55" in size. The moose population in this area is very well managed and is on the rise. Our camps cater to clients in search of medium trophy class and meat bulls.

By limiting our hunts to prime seasons, 2 rut hunts and 1 late-season hunt, success rates as high as 90% are not unrealistic. We offer these trips as a 2-on-1 or 1-on-1 if you prefer. Our hunts are 9 days in duration. Hunting is done by 4x4, boats, quads, argo and on foot. During the rut much of the hunting focuses on calling in high alpine areas, lakes, wetlands and cutblocks as well as spot and stalk. As snow fills the high mountain valleys, it pushes moose into lower areas, making the late-season post-rut hunting excellent. All of our moose hunts offer mule deer and black bear as an add-on. Many clients enjoy self-guided fishing and upland game birds after their successful moose hunt.

A lot of the focus on these hunts is quality meat. We are well set up to get these huge animals out as clean as possible. We are equipped with a walk-in cooler for hanging. We treat every trophy as though it were our own. For a fun, adventurous hunt either as a group or alone, give us a call.

Copper River Outfitters Mountain Grizzly Bear Hunts

The Copper River is world-renowned for it’s great salmon runs. With an abundance of rich protein available and untouched mountain valleys, we have a thriving number of grizzly bears in our area.

We offer these trips as a spring or fall hunt. During the spring, hunting is done spot-and-stalk style, glassing slides, cutblocks and aspen slopes. The fall hunt focuses on the bears along the salmon rivers of the upper Copper. The abundance of salmon is irresistible to hungry grizzlies preparing for winter. This hunt has traditionally been one of our best and success is very high.

Copper River Outfitters Black Bear Hunts

Our area has some of the best black bear habitat available in BC. The large network of roads, cutblocks, aspen slopes and salmon-filled rivers makes this region a bear paradise. The rich vegetation combined with the abundance of fish protein, produces large bears with good skulls. 6’ - 7’ ; bears are average, with a few in the 7 1/2’ class. Skull sizes from 18”-21” are common.

During the spring season, we focus on prime hunting dates from mid-May into June. The bears are just out of hibernation and the coats are at their very best. These hunts have been traditionally 100% for 1 bear with many clients taking 2. Clients will see an abundance of other wildlife in the beautiful coastal mountains. Lakes, rivers, glaciers, waterfalls and high rocky peaks are just a glimpse of what to expect.

The trips are 7 days including your arrival and departure days. The hunt is great for rifle, archery or muzzle-loader. Hunts are offered as a 2-on-1 or 1-on-1 if you prefer. After a successful trip, clients enjoy self-guided fishing and day tours of the local area. This is a great trip for clients from North America as well as around the world.

Our area consists of three main valleys: the Copper River Valley, the Bulkley River Valley and the Telkwa River Valley. The lower- elevation valleys of the Bulkley and Telkwa rivers are home to some great mule deer hunting. Although the number of deer is not high, the quality of bucks is good. Deer as large as 180-200 have come from this area. Realistic expectations of clients should be deer in the 150-170s.

We take only 2 hunters per season and have paired this hunt with a lynx hunt with dogs. The lynx numbers here are good and if the snow conditions cooperate, the success rate is very high.

This hunt is great for a couple of friends who want to have fun chasing cats with dogs and searching for muleys in the peak of the rut. A great trophy addition to most fall hunts.
